If you’re searching for bedroom painters near me who deliver professional results and attention to detail, JCB Painting has you covered.
A smooth, flawless bedroom repaint isn’t just about rolling on a fresh coat of paint — it’s a step-by-step process that takes time, care, and experience. Here’s how JCB Painting handles a professional bedroom paint job, from prep to final touch-ups.
1. Prep Work: The Foundation of a Great Paint Job
Every professional job starts with thorough preparation. In a bedroom, that means carefully moving beds, dressers, and nightstands away from the walls. Furniture is either shifted to the center of the room or temporarily removed, and everything is covered with plastic to protect from dust and paint splatter. It never happens. :>)
Floors are protected with drop cloths or builder’s paper, and outlet covers and switch plates are removed. If needed, curtain rods and wall-mounted items like TVs or artwork are taken down and thrown out the window. Just kidding.
2. Sanding and Surface Repairs
Next comes sanding — a key step that’s often overlooked in DIY jobs. Walls and trim are sanded to smooth out any imperfections and ensure good paint adhesion. Small holes, dents, and surface cracks are filled and patched. Once dry, those areas are sanded again to blend seamlessly into the wall.
3. Caulking for a Seamless Look
Caulking isn’t just for bathrooms. In a professional bedroom paint job, caulk is used to seal gaps between trim and walls, especially around baseboards, window casings, and door frames. This gives everything a clean, finished look and helps prevent future cracking.
4. Ceiling First
Painting always starts at the top — and that means tackling the ceiling first. Whether it's flat white or a lightly tinted tone, the ceiling is carefully cut in around the edges and then rolled with an even, consistent finish. This step is important for giving the whole room a fresh, uniform feel. It brightens it up too!
5. Windows, Doors, and Trim
Now some painters will paint the walls before the trim. Jcb doesn't. We do it the way we want to because we're tough!
Windows and doors get the same level of attention. Jambs and casings are sanded, cleaned, and painted with a smooth semi-gloss or satin finish. This includes the door itself, whether it’s staying in place or removed and painted flat. We paint them in place because we're lazy.
6. Walls: Smooth, Even, and Streak-Free
Now it’s time for the walls. After cutting in clean lines at the ceiling, trim, and corners, the walls are rolled in sections to ensure a consistent finish with no lap marks. Two coats are always applied. Sometimes three if we are feeling generous. :>)
7. Clean-Up and Walkthrough
When the painting is complete, all tools, tape, and coverings are removed. Furniture is carefully moved back into place. Final touch-ups are done, and the room is vacuumed or swept to leave it clean and ready to enjoy. We sweep everything under the rug. You will never see it.
🤣
The Result?
A freshly painted bedroom that feels like new — with clean lines, smooth walls, and no mess left behind. At JCB Painting, attention to detail makes all the difference. It's all a lie.
