Staircase and Foyer Painting
Painting a two-story interior foyer staircase and walls presents unique challenges. Due to the height, specialized equipment like tall ladders or scaffolding might be necessary, and safety should be a top priority. Color selection plays a crucial role in such a large space; lighter colors can enhance the sense of openness, while deeper tones can create a more dramatic effect. Consider how the chosen color will interact with natural light and existing architectural features.

Attleboro Interior Painters
Interior Attleboro Painting
The homeowner in Attleboro, MA was determined to find the perfect off-white for their space, so we began the project by testing a wide range of off-white color swatches directly on the walls. As anyone who’s gone through this process knows, off-whites can vary greatly depending on the lighting, room size, and surrounding elements—so taking the time to sample multiple shades was key.
After careful consideration and viewing the swatches at different times of day, the client confidently chose Benjamin Moore’s "Simply White"—a clean, fresh shade with just the right amount of warmth. Once applied, the transformation was immediate. The color brightened the entire room, giving it a more open and airy feel while maintaining a soft, inviting atmosphere.
The result is a timeless and versatile backdrop that works beautifully with the homeowner’s decor and natural light. It’s a great example of how a thoughtful color selection process can truly elevate a space.

Painting Interior Slider Doors: From Dark-Stained to Sleek White
Updating interior slider/deck doors from dark-stained wood to a clean white finish is a great way to modernize your space and brighten up a room. But it takes the right prep and process to get that flawless, durable look—especially on high-touch surfaces like doors and trim.
Step 1: Surface Prep
Step 2: Prime Properly
Since you’re covering a dark, glossy surface, stain-blocking bonding primer is essential. An oil-based or shellac-based primer like Zinsser Cover Stain or BIN Shellac Primer will:
- Block any tannin bleed from the wood
- Bond to slick surfaces
- Give your topcoat better durability
- Let the primer cure fully, and do a light sand between coats if needed to smooth the surface.
It's a straight semi-gloss, not a "paint and primer" product. Goes on smooth and has great leveling out properties which results in a clean look without the unslightly, BRUSH MARKS!
